When the game of Tarot first crossed my path consciously it was immediately clear that the only way to work
with Tarot - as it was also clear there was no way back - would be to create one. The first Tarot edition is made
intuitively based on what we could call the basic grid of traditional tarot decks as the ‘Tarot de Marseille’, mixed
with the artistic practice, multiple works and performance elements. The whole package became like a pocket-
catalogue to get a better understanding of the different layers of the work I was doing over the past 15 years
or so. I made some changes in names, interpretation, merged elements I was working with and erased and
polished some of the archaic as swords and kings. Once this Tarot was published I started working with it slowly
and discovering what I had made. At the time I also started reading and studying it more, something I wanted
to avoid to much before making the first deck of cards myself knowing once I would devote myself to study I
wouldn’t get it into practice that fluid. Having worked with this tarot on and off the past 4 to 5 years, I discovered
the beauty of this intuitive path that was more then once matching to the ancient tradition of this play of cards,
but also discovered gaps, gaps I couldn’t be consciously aware of at the time. These gaps started create
themselves as they filled themselves with a new era in the artistic practice, the materialized obsession and
eruption of painting. Shortly after finishing and publishing the first tarot the brush hit me with awe and I couldn’t
put it aside, oils and watercolors in themes that were held inside for so long exploded to new dimensions, before
only seeing the day of light, briefly and for my eyes only, in numerous sketchbooks, hidden in installations and
so on, now finally hit the surface. This path is but another manifestation or expression of an intuitive way of
operating in this world, welcoming these things to happen, and one that ultimately brought up a second new
edition of the tarot based on the images that bursted from the paper and canvas over these past few years.
