Forêt Préparée

Forest Préparée (in Metal) (2020)

This winter in the forest of De Hoge Rielen Joris Van de Moortel and his UR Gerausch Kammer Ensemble will perform for this first time the musical sculpture Forest Préparée (in Metal) 2020.

The installation appears as a modern altar surrounded by trees and nature, and hosts 42 speakers all perfectly wired and filtered for a sonic orchestration to blend with the forests’ natural composition in a deep constant drone generated and activated by the remains of the passage of a live performance.
This lawless composition will be underscored during the duration of the festival by Van de Moortel’s new video production and soundtrack Weird Weirdness.
On Friday the 7th between 8 and 11 pm you can witness the UR Gerausch Kammer Ensemble injecting some new tones in the nightly sounds of the forest. Mauro Pawlowski will howl the 7 moralistic songs written by Van de Moortel (as recorded on the 12” Vinyl 7 Moralistische Liederen), Krist Torfs (Condor Gruppe) plans to bang on some toms and bells underneath the stage, Niels Latomme (Beyt All Tapes) plans to do what he does while Geoffrey Burton (CV first class EU guitar-player) plans to apply his guitar and trusted FX gear, all serving in a messy unorthodox mass lit by the forests’ darkened mysteries and an army of wax candles.
A service you shouldn’t miss.
